A single LED bulb gently rests at the bottom of an empty clear plastic shopping bag that has an aluminum wire to give it the structure and appearance of a filled bag. The void surrounding the single bulb, the emptiness of the space surrounding the bulb, and the manner in which the bulb gracefully but irreverently limps upon the bottom of the bag's form, make this light a portrait of loneliness. The wrinkles in the plastic of the bag catch light and echo its former use as a vessel for transporting some unremembered product. Lacking any markings, the bag's anonymity allows it to simply be a canonical representation of a 'shopping bag.'

Since no warmth emanates from the bulb, the plastic will not deform, it will contain. Over time, the open top of the bag will allow detritus to collect at the bottom of the bag alongside the lonesome lightbulb: the insects that die, and the ambient dust that settles.
