Experiments in Tracing the Boundaries of a Bulb II

00027

A single solemn bulb hangs downwards, loosely shaded by two swaths of bubble wrap. As with Experiments in Tracing the Boundaries of a Bulb I the boundary of the bulb spreads and extends into its puffed plastic armor; the radiance of the filament diffuses first through the glass and then through the plastic containing the air, extending and blurring the boundaries of the bulb.

As the light travels through the bubble wrap, it does so unevenly. It slides through the bubbles dotting the surface but breaks and refracts in the spaces between the puffed air pouches, creating a texture of light.
